Ingredients
Garlic 4 cloves, minced
Honey 3 tbsp
Lemon ½
Olive Oil 1 tbsp
Rice 1.5 cups dry
Shrimp 1 lb, peeled
Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
Instructions
  1. Pat shrimp completely dry — wet shrimp steam instead of sear and won't develop the caramelized crust that makes this dish.
  2. Mix honey, soy sauce, and garlic together. Set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook 1.5 minutes until pink on the bottom — do not stir. Flip each shrimp and cook 1 more minute. They should be pink and curled into a C. Overcooked shrimp curl into an O.
  5. Pour honey garlic sauce over shrimp. It will bubble and reduce in about 2 minutes. Toss shrimp to coat.
  6. The sauce should turn glossy and cling to every shrimp. If too watery, cook 1 more minute.
  7. Squeeze lemon over everything and serve immediately over rice.
