Ingredients
Cheese 1 cup, shredded
Ground Beef 1 lb (450g)
Lettuce 1 cup, shredded
Salt 1 tsp
Tortillas 8 small or 4 large
Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break it into small crumbles with a wooden spoon.
  2. Cook 7–8 minutes without stirring too much — let some pieces get a little browned and crispy. Drain excess fat by tilting the pan.
  3. Season with salt, a pinch of pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. Stir and cook 2 minutes more until fragrant.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning. The beef should be boldly seasoned — it will taste muted once inside a tortilla.
  5. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet 30 seconds per side, or wrap in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds.
  6. Fill each tortilla with beef, shredded cheese, and shredded lettuce.
  7. Serve immediately while the beef is hot and the tortillas are warm.
