Ingredients
Beef Broth 1 cup
Butter 2 tbsp
Cornstarch 1 tbsp
Garlic 3 cloves, minced
Ground Turkey 1 lb
Italian Seasoning 1 tsp
Mushrooms 8 oz, sliced
Onion 1 medium, diced
Pepper 1/4 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Tomato Sauce 1/2 cup
Worcestershire Sauce 3 tbsp
Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6-8 minutes over medium-high heat until fully browned with no pink remaining.
  4. Push the turkey to the sides of the pan and add the remaining 1 tbsp butter to the center. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to develop a golden sear, then stir to combine with the turkey.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce, coating everything evenly.
  6. Pour in 3/4 cup of the beef broth. Stir, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 8 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  7. Whisk the cornstarch into the remaining 1/4 cup beef broth until smooth, then pour the slurry into the skillet while stirring continuously.
  8. Increase heat to medium and cook for 2-3 more minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens to a glossy, gravy-like consistency.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Remove from heat and rest for 2 minutes before serving over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
