Ingredients
Apple 2 medium, peeled and diced
Bread 8 slices, cubed
Butter 2 tbsp, melted
Cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp
Eggs 4 large
Maple Syrup 2 tbsp, plus more for serving
Milk 1 1/2 cups
Salt 1/4 tsp
Sugar 3 tbsp
Vanilla Extract 1 tsp
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray.
  2. Spread the cubed bread evenly in the prepared baking dish. Scatter the diced apple over and among the bread cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread and apples, pressing down gently with a spatula so all the bread absorbs the liquid. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the top lightly with an extra pinch of cinnamon and sugar if desired for a slightly crisp topping.
  6. Bake uncovered at 375°F for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set and no longer jiggly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with additional maple syrup drizzled on top.
