Garlic Butter Pasta

Pasta tossed in a silky garlic butter sauce. Simple enough for a 20-minute dinner, good enough to serve to anyone.

Ingredients
Butter 4 tbsp
Garlic 4 cloves, minced
Pasta 8 oz (225g)
Salt 1 tsp
Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Salt it generously — it should taste pleasantly salty.
  2. Cook pasta until al dente according to package directions. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water before draining.
  3. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and pale gold. Do not let it brown.
  5. Drain pasta and add directly to the garlic butter pan over low heat.
  6. Toss vigorously to coat every strand. Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce looks dry — the starch helps it cling.
  7. Season with salt and a crack of black pepper. Serve immediately.
