Bring 2 cups water (or milk for a creamier result) to a boil in a small saucepan.
Add oats and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
Reduce heat to medium-low and cook 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and the mixture is thick and creamy.
If it looks too thick, add a splash of water or milk and stir.
Pour into bowls and drizzle generously with honey.
Optional toppings: sliced banana, a spoonful of peanut butter, fresh or frozen berries, or a pinch of cinnamon.
